Went out and grabbed some pictures this evening while driving around (these are all still RAWs, drove three hours to pick up the car and too lazy to edit). In short, it’s a blast.

classy. That thing is in great shape.

Congrats! Looks like a 94-95? I bought my 94 two months ago today and I haven’t stopped smiling yet.

I see factory cruise control, I’m thinking you scored a LSD Miata! It looks so damn clean, you got lucky scoring one with a nice non-intrusive but functional rollbar. Any engine bay pictures? Are the wheels solid, semi-hollow, or full-hollow spokes?

Awesome. I haven’t seen an NA this clean in years.

That looks really clean. Congrats.

Nice, one of the cleanest stock NA’s I’ve seen in a while. Mine is way rustier

Answer to every question my wife has asked this morning has become “Miata”.
Unsurprisingly, it will also be the answers to the question “What did Bobloblaw’s wife use as a murder weapon? Miata.”

‘95 and I’m still smiling. Thing is so much happier being wrung out than it is dawdling around, it’s a delight.

Thanks. I’ve waited a long time waiting for this car to come around. Drove a lot of perfectly fun beaters trying to find this one, but I had my heart set on something really clean.

It’s certainly the cleanest one I’ve seen in the year or so I’ve been looking, thanks!

Classy isn't always the first word that comes to mind with regards to Miatas, but this thing does kind of have that quality to it.

It is factory cruise, although unfortunately that’s about the only thing wrong with the car as it’s not working, which is task number one. Was thrilled about the rollbar; it makes one-hand top operation difficult, but this thing was headed to the track either way so one was going in regardless.
Engine bay pictures got kinja’d in the original post, reuploaded just now.
I’m not keen on the difference between the semi and full hollows, but I did poke around underneath confirm that they’re not the solid spokes.

Good Lord, I can’t believe you found one so clean. And fully loaded too! My mom’s doesn’t even have power steering haha
You should probably hang on that for a while.

Really nice Miata, congrats. I miss mine. That looks more like a style bar than a roll bar, as I only can see 2 points of securement, with the factory bar running over the package tray. Before heading to a track, verify rollbar requirements, as that one may not be sufficient.
Congrats again. That looks to be a really clean NA!!

Glad you said something, I had that thought yesterday while driving home but it dribbled out of my mind in the excitement. Just went and checked and you are correct, looks like I’ll be ordering a rollbar today!

Thanks so much! I don't foresee it going anywhere anytime soon.

Holy crap that's clean! I thought mine was clean and now I might have to rethink that! Whereabouts are you from?

You might want to upgrade that bar if you’re going trackday. That basic hoop is good for street use, but not track.

Yup, just had that chat with someone else. Thought crossed my mind on the drive home. Already ordered!

Also, destroy that aftermarket alarm asap, they’re nothing but trouble.

Haha, you’re reading my mind apparently. I’m honestly afraid to even touch it if it’s not fucking anything up at the moment, lord only knows what’s going on in there.
Already tracked down the cruise issue (hopefully), blue plunger for the clutch switch was sheared off and laying under the floor mat, hopefully should be an easy fix.

Awesome purchase...welcome to the club!
On a side note, check and make sure the cam position sensor seal isn’t leaking onto that inside heater hose...that will ruin your day real quick if that heater hose goes. I’d also really look into replacing that style bar with a true roll bar, especially if you’d like to take it on track eventually.
Any future plans for modification or staying stock?

Thanks, and thanks for the heads up on the cam position sensor, I’ll take a look.
New track-appropriate rollbar would have been ordered this morning if I could decide which I want to go with. Track Dog Racing guys aren’t terribly far from me here in Dallas so I may just run by their shop to look at my options in person.
To be honest the car is so nice that I don’t want to go wild with it. Modifications will probably be limited to bolt-on suspension work and perhaps a dedicated track set of wheels and tires. I’ll likely toss an LSD a little more aggressive than stock in it eventually too. Otherwise I just plan on keeping it as clean as it was when I got it and then tidying up some loose ends to send it over the top. That and getting it out to the track and autocrosses as often as possible.

Track Dog seems to have a great roll bar for every Miata application. It mostly depends on if you want to have a hardtop or a glass window soft top in the future. I’ve been pretty happy with their products. I’d avoid the Ace though...just doesn’t seem to provide enough helmet clearance.
If you have an earlier viscous LSD, replacing it with a more robust one wouldn’t be a bad idea at all. They tend to die quickly on track; save it and reinstall for better resale value. If you can find a light 15" wheel, you will have more tire options. I’ve been pretty happy with Dunlop Direzza Star Spec IIs on my Miata. They are relatively cheap and excellent for autocross and track, both in the wet and dry.

Thanks for all of that, actually, as it confirms a couple of thoughts I’ve had. I’m not a super tall guy, but just eyeballing it I have some qualms about whether the existing bar would even pass the broomstick test with me in the car at 6 feet tall.
Tires were another thought that I’ll be addressing very soon, too, as the tires that are on it are... generic at best.

Yep! It just loves to run, surprisingly quick too the 1.8!
